Craig Bellamy’s U18 side earned an emphatic 4-1 victory on the road against the U’s.

It was the hosts who started on the front foot as they took the lead through Callum Jones’ early strike in the first half.

However the Bluebirds equalised before the interval as Trystan Jones netted his first goal of the season for the U18 side.

After the break, both teams had several opportunities to take the lead but it wasn’t until the final 15 minutes that the Bluebirds took the initiative. It was done so in style too as midfielder Sam Bowen shot from range to put his team ahead with time running out.

Just a few minutes later though it was 3-1. Another defender got on the scoresheet for the visitors as Adam Sharif got his first of the campaign to put the game to bed.

Cardiff City weren’t finished yet as Sion Spence got in on the goals too. The attacking midfielder impressively grabbed his 13th of the season to secure a solid start to 2018.

Next up for the U18 side will be against Crystal Palace at Cardiff International Sports Campus on Saturday, 13th January – 11am kick-off.
