Zohore: “We’ve got nothing but winners”

Interviews

Kenneth Zohore netted his seventh goal of the season to seal a 3-1 win over Brentford on Tuesday evening. After the game, the striker expressed his joy to the press and media at Griffin Park.

“I felt like I created a lot of opportunities, so I was very happy to get the goal,” Zohore exclaimed. “Junior has assisted most of the goals I’ve scored for the club, so I’m really happy to get another one.

“I think I’ve played well in the last few games. I’ve really tried to work as hard as I can to get back in top form. I’m really glad to score a goal today.”

Zohore praised the spirit throughout the squad, which helped the Bluebirds come from a goal behind to take all three points against the Bees.

“When we went a goal down it still felt like we could win, because we have a team that can come back and be strong. If we play well we can always get a result, even away from home.

“We’ve got nothing but winners, and that’s why we are where we are. We’ve just got to keep pushing. We’ve just got to enjoy it and take one game at a time. We know if we play well we can win every game.”

City now turn their attention to a vital clash with Derby County on Sunday, and Zohore had a clear message ahead of our trip to Pride Park.

“It’s a massive game on Sunday. We’ll be going there looking to bring a result back to Cardiff. I’m always looking forward to matches, and training, I just want to get on the pitch. It’s all about confidence as a striker, you want to score. But as long as we win games, the personal targets are secondary.

“We’ve just got to take it one game at a time. We still have to play the teams closest to us. There’s still a long way to go, and a lot of points to play for.”
