Academy | Bluebirds selected for Victory Shield Tournament
A number of young Bluebirds have been called up to Wales U16's National camp to compete in the Victory Shield Tournament!
With Wales' U16 side competing against the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland, this year Northern Ireland will be hosting the tournament.
The seven City players selected are Dylan Lawlor, Luey Giles, Troy Perrett, Charlie Crew, Cody Twose, Josh Beecher and Osian Rees.
Facing the hosts on Sunday, October 17th in Belfast, the young Dragons will then play Republic of Ireland on the Tuesday, finishing the tournament against Scotland on Friday, October 22nd.
Academy Head of Coaching David Hughes said: “It is excellent to see the individuals gain recognition of their progress with an international call up.
"To see seven academy boys selected to represent Wales provides a sense of undoubted pride for the boys themselves, the parents and the Football Club.
"The Victory Shield will greatly enrich their development by providing a different learning experience over the coming 10 days. Good luck to all selected and Wales during the tournament in Belfast.”
