On May 21st, an induction day was held at Cardiff City Stadium, where the young players completed their first academy registration.

The new group of players also took part in a festival against local sides Taff's Well, Barry Town United and Cambrian & Clydach, with parents and friends invited to share the special occasion.

Speaking after the induction day at CCS, Head of Academy Recruitment, Ben Clarke, said: "After a fantastic year with a special group of players, it was great to host this event with their families and friends to mark their achievement.

"I know how hard they have all worked to get this opportunity and we are so proud of them. I’m excited to see where their individual journeys take them. Well done, boys!"

Head of Academy David Hughes added: "We are delighted to welcome the U9’s into the academy program. A huge thank you must go to all of our parent clubs in the local community for their continued support.

"We now aim to continue the great work you have already started, by inspiring a lifelong love of football and learning. It is always a period full of excitement for the boys as they commence their journey. Good luck, and have a great time!"

The Club would like to thank the local grassroots clubs and organisations involved for their efforts in helping the players along their journey, as they now look forward to taking their next steps with Cardiff City FC Academy.
