Fa Youth Cup

The Opposition

Ipswich Town progressed to Round Three of the 2019/20 FA Youth Cup by defeating Exeter City and King's Lynn Town.

The Tractor Boys currently sit fifth in the Professional Development League Group South standings with 22 points, having had six wins, four draws and four losses to date.

They concluded their 2018/19 Group South campaign in second place and at that stage had 31 more points than they presently have, having competed in 14 more matches.

Ntazana Mayembe

In the Hot Seat

Adem Atay has been Ipswich Town’s U18 Manager since June 2009 and the 33-year-old was also a professional footballer for the Blues.

He began his career with the Tractor Boys in 2002/03, but never made a senior appearance, so moved to Turkish side Sanyer during the 2007/08 campaign and played once for them.

Atay then signed for another Turkish side in Büyükçekmece Tepecikspor during the summer of 2008 and never made a First Team appearance for them either before departing and beginning his coaching career.

Last Time Out

The sides met in their last outing in the Professional Development League on Saturday, December 7th at Cardiff International Sports Stadium and the Bluebirds won 3-0.

Chances were a rarity in the first-half, but inside the first minute of the second period Ntazana Mayembe gave the hosts a lead.

Seven minutes later, Isaak Davies doubled City’s advantage by scrambling home his third of the season and with six minutes of the 90 remaining, Mayembe netted a brace, his team’s third and his seventh of the U18 team’s campaign.
