Harris | 7 points is a great return, but we want even more

CHARLTON REACTION | HARRIS

Neil Harris spoke to the press and media via video link following Cardiff City's home draw with Charlton Athletic.

The Bluebirds are unbeaten since the return to action, taking seven points from their three matches. After the goalless draw with the Addicks, Harris reflected on the contest.

"It was right to praise the players after the euphoria of the last two games," he said. "But there was the caution of saying: we've still got a long way to go.

"That was evident today. As much as we dominated the ball and put some good moves together, we lacked that killer moment.

"Fair play to Charlton; they came and parked the bus at times, especially in the second half and we didn't quite have those moments to break them down.

"It could be a really valuable point though and it's a clean sheet that we are pleased with."

Next up, a Severnside Derby lies in wait as the Bluebirds travel to Ashton Gate on Saturday afternoon.

Harris set his sights firmly on the fixture as he called for his men to go one better this weekend.

"We've come a long way," he added. "It was the first time we broke into the top six all season and we are there to be shot at now.

"It's one game at a time now. It's the best one possible on Saturday – Bristol City. A great opportunity for us to go and take points off another team chasing.

"We know how important the game is. We're disappointed that the Bluebirds can't be there to cheer us on over the water, but it is what it is, and we performed really well against Leeds and Preston.

"Seven points in three games after lockdown is a fantastic return. I'm really pleased with the players, but we want more. Saturday is the start of that."

Reaction from Neil Harris and Joe Bennett to follow on Cardiff City TV.
