Harris | A great three points

Interviews

Cardiff City FC boss Neil Harris spoke following Saturday's first away win of the 2019/20 league campaign, at Nottingham Forest.

Our high flying hosts had the stronger possession stats, but failed to break down the determined Bluebirds defence, with Nathaniel Mendez-Laing's early stunner from distance the only goal of the match.

"It was a great three points," Neil began. "We've come to a team that had only lost three games all season before today - and recorded our first away win of the campaign.

"I'm really proud of the players. We've had to dig in at times but I don't remember our goalie having to make too many saves, or them having any real clear cut chances in the 18-yard box."

He continued: "The players have been excellent and really bought into my organisation and structure.

"We had 23/24 shots last week at Charlton. Not so many in mid-week during what was a very typical Tuesday night Championship game. Today against a team flying high we needed to have moments of quality - and Nathaniel provided that for us.

"I thought we were really solid and reliable today."
