Harris | We go to Brentford full of confidence

BRENTFORD PRE-MATCH MEDIA | HARRIS

Neil Harris held a pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon, looking ahead to Wednesday's trip to Brentford.

Following the Bluebirds’ dramatic fightback to take all three points against Barnsley on Saturday, Harris explained that he learnt a lot from his men’s latest performance in the Welsh capital.

“There’s a lot we can learn from that game,” he said. “We had the post-match this morning, the players were asked their opinions and we discussed it. I learned a lot about the players on the weekend, and a lot about their character.

“The players that are on the pitch and in that changing room want to win - they are winners as characters and want to do well for the Club.”

City are unbeaten under Neil Harris having earned ten points from his four matches at the helm. With successive away trips now lying in wait, the City boss insisted that the Bluebirds will relish the upcoming challenges.

“We have to go there full of confidence,” he continued. “And full of belief that we can be better defensively than we were on the weekend, but as dangerous going forward. To be able to score three goals at the weekend, two at Charlton and create chances at Forest.

“We have to find that element to our game where we are dangerous going the other way but, ultimately, to be successful at Griffin Park you have to defend and be solid.

“Obviously, after Christmas we’ve got Hillsborough as well. It's a tough little spell but what an exciting one for the staff, players and the fans as well, although it’s an expensive one at this time of year.”
