Hudson post-Leeds United | Proud of our performance

Interviews

Mark Hudson spoke to the press following our 2-2 draw with Leeds United in the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

“The overriding feeling is of pride in our performance against a tough Leeds side.” Huds began.

“I think tactically, we got it right, we showed a good shape, we countered when we could, we frustrated them to a certain amount of moments, [we scored] two really good goals and we knew we would suffer in the second half.

“The abundance of talent they have off the bench is huge - it’s not bad when you can bring Rodrigo off the bench.”

Speaking about the penalty incident in the second half, Huds added: “From Joel’s point of view, it’s a great save. I think it’s reactive, he’s put his body towards it. Testament to the keepers for doing their homework, it’s a good save.

"You think maybe you can hold on. They scored a good goal but overall, I'm proud. I think everyone should be proud of their own performance and being ready to be called upon.

"Rubin [Colwill] was due to start and pulled out through illness this morning, so Jaden [Philogene] woke up thinking he was on the bench, then turned up and he was starting, so it just shows they’re switched on.

“We’ve been working on certain aspects of the game that will improve us. I think we get from our box to the opposition box really well, then it’s about simplifying it. I think we picked our moments really well.”
