Hudson post-QPR | We're disappointed not to get three points

Interviews

Mark Hudson spoke to the press after Cardiff City’s goalless draw with QPR at Cardiff City Stadium.

“We showed we can take the game to them,” Mark began. “We limited them to one shot on target, we created the best chances. We got a clean sheet, but we are disappointed not to get the three points.

“The boys are disappointed not to get the three points, and I second that, we wanted to send the fans home with the victory, but I think the players showed their work rate and endeavour today, a togetherness to fight, and long may that continue.”

Rubin Colwill shined on his return to the squad, and Hudson is confident the youngster can build on this performance as he continues towards full match fitness.

“I thought he looked good," said Mark. "It’s all we’ve ever said that we’re trying to get him in the right place physically so that we don’t put him at risk. We played him last week and he showed flashes of what he’s about.

“He played 75 minutes last week and he’s come off fine today which is good. We’ll have to see how he recovers tomorrow; we’ve got a quick turnaround with two big games coming up.

“He’s got vision, his work rate today was excellent, he worked well off the ball, positionally he was strong. We had to be patient with him, but I thought he did really well today.”

Huds concluded by saying that the performance tonight showed that the Bluebirds can go toe-to-toe with anyone in the league.

“I know that we’re disappointed not to get the three points," explained Hudson. "But we competed against a really top side.

“We have to be consistent. It’s three draws on the bounce, three unbeaten, but we have to turn them into wins.”
