Lamouchi post-Bristol City | I’m so proud

Interviews
Cardiff City manager Sabri Lamouchi spoke to the press after the Bluebirds’ 2-0 win against Bristol City.

“We stuck to and respected our plan,” Sabri began. “We were probably lucky in the first half not to concede a goal. Ryan [Allsop] made two great saves, but it was a serious performance in the first half, a very focused one.

“Second half we changed two or three things and we deserved to score, and deserve this victory. An absolutely massive win in my first derby. I'm happy for the fans and happy for the players, because it is a clean sheet and three points in a derby game.

“We just keep going and look for the consistency and this kind of performance.”

Sabri was also keen to praise the role of Joe Ralls, as the captain showed of his versatility on Saturday.

“Nobody asked me why Callum O’Dowda was on the bench, it’s because he didn’t train all week. Yesterday he did the test and he wanted to be a part of this game.

“But it was my responsibility to put in that position who I thought was ready, and for me it was Joe. I spoke to him two days ago and I know I can trust him.

“He’s my captain, our captain and the man of the club. A great performance from him but all of them were great today.”

The result means it’s now three wins out of four now for the Bluebirds, and Lamouchi ended by praising the fans.

“Bristol City are a good team and we put in a great performance. I’m so proud of players today.

“This team just needs more confidence, and to get confidence we just need more good performances and good results, and if we do that the team will play with more freedom.

“It’s a massive win for us. I’m happy for our fans and we now have back-to-back wins at home. They created a great atmosphere, and the emotion was unbelievable.”
