Loan Report | Cardiff City Academy: 05/11/2019

We take a look at how all of our young Bluebirds got on in action for their respective sides in this week’s loan report…

Cymru Premier League

Sion Spence and George Ratcliffe

Sion Spence and George Ratcliffe – Barry Town United

It was a disappointing week for midfielder Sion Spence and goalkeeper George Ratcliffe, as the duo were both not available for selection in the matchday squad for Barry Town United’s 4-1 defeat to Caernarfon Town, following injuries sustained earlier in the week.

The next match for Gavin Chesterfield’s side is against Connah’s Quay Nomads, on Saturday, November 9th (2:30pm kick-off).

Ryan Reynolds

Dan Griffiths, Keenan Patten and Ryan Reynolds – Penybont FC

Forward Dan Griffiths and midfielder Keenan Patten both appeared against Cardiff Met on Friday, October 31st – as Penybont claimed a vital point against Cardiff Met on the road in a 1-1 draw. Dan Griffiths started for Rhys Griffiths’ side, before being substituted in the 81st minute.

Keenan Patten put in an inspired performance in midfield for Penybont, playing for the whole 90 minutes. Defender Ryan Reynolds wasn’t in the matchday squad, as he is still recovering from an injury sustained earlier in the season.

Penybont’s next fixture is against Broughton on Saturday 9th, 2:30pm kick-off.

The National League

Mark Harris – Wrexham

Wales U21 international Mark Harris appeared for the Red Dragons in their most recent league win, a 1-0 victory over Bromley on Saturday, November 2nd. The forward was named among the substitutes but appeared from the 61st minute onwards as Wrexham claimed a crucial three points.

Harris also played against Torquay United last Tuesday, with Harris being selected in the starting XI. He was substituted in the 68th minute as Wrexham fell to a 1-0 defeat at Plainmoor.

Wrexham’s next fixture is in the FA Cup 1st round, on Sunday, November 10th – as Dean Keates’ side look to knock Rochdale out of the competition at the Racecourse.

National League South

Jack Bodenham – Hereford FC

Russell Slade’s Hereford returned to action following a lengthy break due to postponements against Darlington, with defender Jack Bodenham only named on the bench for the match. Bodenham was an unused sub as the Bulls recorded a 0-0 draw away from home.

Their next fixture is against Alfreton Town at Edgar Street this Tuesday, 7:45pm kick-off.

Southern Premier South

James Waite, Dan Martin and Connor Davies – Weston Super-Mare

Weston Super-Mare’s most recent fixture on Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, meaning it was a rare Saturday off for the Southern Premier South outfit.

James Waite started for the Seagulls against Harrow on Tuesday, October 29th – with full-back Connor Davies named amongst the substitutes. Dan Martin didn’t feature in the matchday squad, with the defender still recovering from injury.

Waite was substituted in the 89th minute, as his side claimed a 1-1 draw at the Optima Stadium. Connor Davies was an unused sub.

The next match for Scott Bartlett’s side is against Yate Town on Saturday, 3pm kick-off.
