Academy

We take a look back at how all of our young Bluebirds got on in action for their respective sides in this week’s loan report…

Ryan Reynolds

Cymru Premier League

Sion Spence and George Ratcliffe – Barry Town United

Goalkeeper George Ratcliffe and midfielder Sion Spence both appeared for Barry Town United on Saturday, with the pair both putting in solid displays as the Linnets remained unbeaten in league action since the start of the 2019/20 campaign following a 1-1 draw with Bala Town.

The next match for Gavin Chesterfield’s side is against Broughton at Jenner Park on Saturday 26th October, as Barry Town United look to regain their place at the top of the Cymru Premier League table.

Dan Griffiths, Keenan Patten and Ryan Reynolds – Penybont FC

Keenan Patten marked his return from injury with an appearance against the current league champions, The New Saints on Saturday. The industrious midfielder appeared alongside forward Dan Griffiths, who netted his third goal of the season in a 2-1 defeat.

The next game for Rhys Griffiths’ side is against Cefn Druids on October 27th at the KYMCO Stadium.

The National League

Mark Harris – Wrexham

It was a disappointing week for the Red Dragons, who failed to register a win in two matches over the past week. They faced Chesterfield on two occasions, once in the league and once in the FA Cup.

Mark Harris was brought on as a sub after 61 minutes in their league match against the Spirites on Tuesday night, but he couldn’t prevent his side from falling to a 1-0 defeat. It was chance for redemption on Saturday, as Harris was brought into the starting line-up by manager Dean Keates. He was substituted after 58 minutes in the 1-1 draw.

Wrexham’s next match is a FA Cup replay against Chesterfield this Tuesday at the Racecourse – 7:45pm kick-off.

National League South

Jack Bodenham and Warren Burwood – Hereford FC

Goalkeeper Warren Burwood made his debut for the Bulls on Tuesday night against Hinton FC, as he was selected in the starting XI for the HFA Senior Cup by ex-City manager Russell Slade. Burwood would keep a clean sheet in a 13-0 win for Hereford FC. Jack Bodenham was rested for the match and didn’t feature in the squad.

Their next match is a trip to Southport FC on Tuesday for a 7:45pm kick-off in league action.

Southern Premier South

James Waite, Dan Martin and Connor Davies – Weston Super-Mare

Forward James Waite netted his first goal for the Seagulls over the past week in his second game for the club against Blackfield and Langley last Tuesday. Dan Martin also appeared in the 2-1 defeat, coming on as a substitute in the 68th minute for Scott Bartlett’s side – fellow defender Connor Davies was an unused substitute.

Dan Martin started on Saturday against Met Police alongside James Waite. The duo played the full 90, with Martin named man of the match for his performance. Connor Davies was an unused sub in the 2-1 defeat.

The Seagulls’ next match is against Tiverton Town on October 22nd, 7:45pm kick-off.
