Morison post-Luton | We didn’t finish those moments

Interviews
Steve Morison spoke to the press following the Bluebirds’ defeat to Luton Town on Tuesday evening.

“It’s disappointing because we dominated the game from start to finish.” Steve began. “We gave a couple of chances away and they took them, the second one was offside, but that’s life.

"We had chances in both halves, but we, as a team, didn’t finish those moments off, and they did.

“We’re a work in progress, we knew there were going to be ups and downs. I’d like to have three wins, two draws and two losses, or two wins, three draws and two losses, of course I would, but hopefully, we can deal with that tally and get our first away win on Saturday.”

With City pulling back a late goal through Romaine Sawyers to go close to mounting a comeback, Morison expressed the importance of patience during the campaign.

He said: “Apart from the first five minutes, when you’re watching and thinking that we need to get through this period, I really enjoyed watching the team play. But, we lost the game, and winning is all that matters.

“If we play like that, and keep dominating all aspects of the pitch, which we did; possession, shots, stopping their shots, expected goals, whatever you want to talk about, we were the dominant team in all of that.

“Ultimately, we’ve let ourselves down from a set piece and a cross, which is something we have to be better at. It’s about being patient and keeping the belief.”
