Robinson post-Stoke City | The subs got us over the line

Interviews

Having scored a second half equaliser against Stoke City, Callum Robinson spoke to the media after a topsy-turvy clash at the bet365 Stadium.

"We started the game really well, and we got the goal we deserved." the striker began. "I felt that we were in the game and doing well, but then they came back into it.

"I think a draw was probably the best result. Sometimes if you can't win a game, don't lose it. It was a good point, coming here to play against a team who are around us in the table.

"The subs changed the game for us. That's credit to them, and it just proves that it's a long season, and we're going to need everyone. I thought Sparky was unbelievable, and then Kion got the assist for my goal.

"Romaine came on and did his bit, kept the ball for us. I think today the subs got us over the line, and got us that point."

The Republic of Ireland striker went on to discuss his role as one of the senior members of the City squad, before looking ahead to our upcoming fixtures at CCS.

He said: "I'm obviously happy to get the goal. Personally, I just want to keep trying to help the team get points on the board.

"I think we've got enough ability. But, there are a lot of young lads, and with 17 signings, it's going to take a while; with 17 new people in any business working together, it takes time.

"I'll try to help the boys on and off the field, and try to bring my experience. We all try and chip in. We've been working hard in the break, and hopefully we can continue that now.

"When you're at home, you want to be winning all those games. The fans come out and watch us, and hopefully on Saturday we can put on a performance and get that result that we all want."
