Sabri pre-Watford | We need to fight

Interviews
City boss Sabri Lamouchi spoke to the press on Zoom on Tuesday morning ahead of the midweek clash with Watford.

"We go again tomorrow against probably the best squad in the league in Watford," Sabri stated. "We will do our best to get a positive result, come back and focus immediately on Stoke City.

"It'll be tough. We're aiming for maximum points. We know why we must give our best. The Club deserves to stay in the Championship and I know the players will do everything they can for that.

"I have a fantastic group. I'm surprised to find this group, with this quality, in this situation. We are where we are. We need to fight with this and be determined to get out of this situation. The Club has a very important community.

"The Championship isn't just about quality, it's about consistency and this year we have never been consistent. We know what we need to do in that case in the future, but that's the future. We have five games to play and five games to try and get maximum points to try and stay in this very tough league. It's been a very difficult season. It is in our hands."

The Bluebirds will sadly continue to be without forward Callum Robinson for the foreseeable future, the City boss confirmed during his squad injury update on Tuesday.

"Callum [Robinson] will not be available for the rest of the season. The medical department tried absolutely everything, Callum too. But he won't be available in the next few weeks.

"Rubin [Colwill] didn't train with us after Blackpool. He has a problem with his hips. He won't be available for the game tomorrow. I hope he's back after that. We are also looking today at Jaden Philogene and Jack Simpson."
