Cardiff City’s U18 side return to the Professional Development League on Saturday (15/4), hosting Barnsley at Cardiff International Sports Campus – 2pm kick-off.

After a win last time out, the young Bluebirds will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins this weekend.
Wednesday saw Steve Jenkins’ team travel to Ipswich, and they left Suffolk with a 3-2 victory. A brace from Tanatswa Nyakuhwa and one for Troy Perrett helped the Bluebirds get back to winning ways, after a defeat to Sheffield United.

The result moves City up to third place in the PDL South and onto 40 points. Charlton Athletic and Millwall remain in first and second respectively.

This weekend sees Barnsley, who are top of the PDL North, head down to take on the Bluebirds. The Tykes have already secured a PDL play-off spot, after their last game which came at the end of March; a 7-2 thumping of Ipswich Town. A number of their young players have made first team appearances this season, including Portuguese player Fabio Jalo, who has made a 11 competitive first team appearances. It promises to be an interesting game on Saturday.
