U21 Match Preview | Bristol City vs. Cardiff City

Academy
Cardiff City's U21 side travel to face Bristol City on Tuesday afternoon - kick-off at 1pm.

The young Bluebirds begin their week at the Robins High Performance Centre ahead of their home return to play at CCS on Friday night, looking to build upon their form following last week's impressive 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic.

Bristol City are currently in third place on the PDL South table, and are unbeaten from their opening five matches of the campaign so far.

Having not conceded a goal in their last three fixtures, the Robins defeated Sheffield Wednesday in their most recent outing on September 5th.

Darren Purse

Ahead of Tuesday's match, U21s Manager Darren Purse spoke of the challenge ahead:

“Last week with the sides that we put out it was really chalk and cheese, but we really matched them for effort and intensity. We were really impressed with that result, but that’s one game in a season. We need to produce that week in, week out.

“The boys have been good in training, and now we’re just looking forward to this run of fixtures this week. Playing Tuesday to Friday is another challenge for the boys, and how they’ll recover from each game, taking information on board and dealing with those matches in a short period of time.

"It’s a learning curve for the players and staff such as the analysts, but they’re all working hard and doing a good job around the place.”
