U21 QPR H Preview

U21 Match Preview | QPR vs. Cardiff City

Academy
Cardiff City's U21 side travel to face QPR in a PDL fixture on Tuesday night - 7pm KO.

The young Bluebirds will be looking to bounce back following last week's defeat against Watford, as they continue with a busy run of fixtures over the coming weeks.

With two matches to be played over the coming days, City will be looking to start the week strongly with a visit to face the R's.

QPR are currently in ninth place on the PDL South table, with 13 points earned from 12 matches played so far this season. The R's are winless in six league fixtures, last earning a point against Ipswich Town from a 4-4 draw in October.

Following Tuesday night's match, City will once again be travelling for Friday's fixture against Colchester United, as the Bluebirds continue to compete for a place at the top end of the table.

Darren Purse

Ahead of the fixture, U21s Manager Darren Purse discussed the match, as he anticipates the fresh challenge brought by a busy week of fixtures:

"We've got a big week ahead of us from these two fixtures," began Darren. "It will be very much like a First Team schedule in that regard, which is great for our young players as they learn how to recover from and then manage games.

"I'm not sure that the analysts will agree with me from all the extra work it involves, but from a player's and a manager's point of view I think it's a good opportunity to have these two matches in four days.

"There's lots of travelling involved, but it's something that the boys have got to get used to as they continue their development."
