U21 Pre-Season Match Preview | Cardiff City vs. Bromley

Academy
Cardiff City's U21 side continue their pre-season preparations with a return to Leckwith on Wednesday afternoon - kick-off at 1pm.

The Bluebirds will host the Ravens on the Outer SIS Pitch at Cardiff International Sports Stadium, and is open to the public for supporters who wish to attend. Please note that this fixture is not taking place on the main pitch at Cardiff International Sports Stadium.

Following Friday night's pre-season opener against Carmarthen Town, City's U21 side are continuing to prepare for their upcoming U21 PDL campaign, with U21s Manager Darren Purse looking forward to Wednesday afternoon's home challenge:

"It's an opportunity for the boys to improve on what they didn't do so well on Friday night," began Darren. "I thought in possession of the ball we did some neat and tidy stuff, but out of possession I think we still need some work.

"We're continuing to work and improve ahead of the first game of the season, which is the most important thing. Whilst doing that, we'll have a couple of the boys being given more minutes, as we slowly increase their game time for the start of the season.

"Some of the boys aren't quite used to the schedules of playing frequently, and last season we tried to expose them to a two-game week. It's good for them to getting used to preparing for the game, and learning what it takes to recover as well.

"Preparation is hugely important, and will come to fruition in their games. How they prepare for these upcoming fixtures will be a big part of that, with different kick-off times and plenty of matches to be played still in pre-season."
