Ward: We're looking to make it right on Saturday

Ahead of City's return to CCS on Saturday afternoon to face Birmingham City, Danny Ward spoke exclusively to Cardiff City TV.

As the Bluebirds strive to bounce back from last weekend's disappointment, the striker eyed an immediate response from his teammates back in the Welsh capital.

“We’re disappointed whenever we lose a match," Ward began. "But when it’s such a big game like it was against Swansea City, and with it meaning so much to our supporters, it adds even more to it.

“We’ve seen where we went wrong and now we’re looking to making it right on Saturday."

The Bluebirds have won four and drawn two of their six Sky Bet Championship home matches this season. Danny explained how important it is to have such a fortress in CCS, with focus firmly set on keeping that unbeaten run going.

“The results that we’ve had at home have been good," he continued. "To have a home game now is massive, and we just need to continue that form that we’ve worked hard for."

“We just need to keep making it hard for teams to come here and keep doing what we have been doing to take results at home."

Wardy has certainly had his shooting boots on this season, netting four goals from just seven appearances in the City shirt. He finished by assessing his goal-scoring form, as he eyed more goals in the games to come.

“I’m feeling really fit since I’ve come back," added Ward. "Obviously to be firing into the back of the net is great, but I just need to keep going now and keep my spot in the team.

“You do feel sharper the more that you play. It’s about playing games, because you can lose a bit of that match sharpness otherwise.

“I’m now feeling as sharp as I ever have done whilst at Cardiff City."
