Brian Barry-Murphy spoke to the media after Cardiff City’s 2-1 win against Swindon Town in the Carabao Cup.
“I’m really pleased. It means a lot to me to get through to the next round and to see who we could possibly take on.” Brian began. “This competition creates so many brilliant occasions but to get to those occasions you need to get through the rounds, so to win tonight was really important for us and we treated the game really seriously. I thought there was respect in that performance; I was really happy.”

City are unbeaten in league and Cup in the early stages of the new season, with the boss stressing the importance of guaranteeing results whilst implementing a new playing style.
“We want to win all the games and we want to be competitive. I don’t know if there was a presumption that would be an easy game, but we treated the game as seriously as every game and you hope that transitions to the players.
"I’m really pleased to play in the manner that we did for long enough in the game to allow us to win, and then to give the players who came in their reward, based on how they’ve trained, and the feeling of being part of a winning team.”

Brian concluded by praising the performance of Isaak Davies against the Robins.
“He’s been electric in training and I just wanted him to get the confidence that he can play at the same level and he displayed that,” he stated.
“He’s clearly an outstanding striker that wants to play through the middle, but based on the quality that we have in that position, I feel as an option in wide areas he’s very exciting, and I think he’s a player who will get the support based on how explosive he is in behind the last line, which is so important to the way we want to play.”
