City boss Brian Barry-Murphy spoke to the assembled press following the 4-0 away win over Doncaster Rovers.
The Bluebirds returned to winning ways, following a rare defeat last week, showing their style and ability throughout an impressive showing.
"It was a very positive performance," Brian began. "We really wanted to play the game in an aggressive manner and show the best version of ourselves and the players did exactly what we planned from the first minute.
"We were aware of how good, in terms of technical ability, Doncaster are as a team and they wouldn't have enjoyed the pitch too.
"We have to show throughout the course of the season how adaptable we are and how we can overcome different tests. That was one part of it today. I thought we created good chances and the mentality of the team was evident at all times.
"I was reasonably pleased at half-time and felt the longer the game went on the more we would create as Doncaster would inevitably chase the game, and that was the case.
"The players are very ambitious, and I feel like we're improving all the time. You're going to have setbacks on the way.
"The response from the players this week has been perfect in how we trained and prepared. It's no coincidence that this is how they performed on the Saturday."
Dylan Lawlor scored a remarkable individual goal at the start of the second half to double City's advantage. What is even more impressive is that Lawlor almost didn't come out for the second half itself.
Brian continued: "We were aware Doncaster press very aggressively, man-to-man. Once we were able to beat one of their players at the front end of the pitch, it was important we ran with the ball and travelled.
"Dylan took that differently. He produced a great moment for us that gave us strong impetus in the second half. He's had a knee injury that has been complicated for us. We felt he was in a good place to start this game.
"We didn't anticipate he'd go the distance and he has picked up another injury we're slightly concerned with. He felt his calf at half-time but wanted to continue. We're very glad he did with his impact on the second half. We'll assess him this week."

Next up for BBM's men is a home clash against second placed Lincoln City back in the Welsh capital next weekend.
Brian added: "For us, it's just the next match. Lincoln City have had an impressive season; they're a good team with a brilliant manager. It's a great game for us to play at home.
"I didn't think it was possible to have as big a following at an away game in this league like we had today. The energy created by the supporters was incredible.
"Something similar next week at home would be amazing."
