Nikolaos Karydas joined Cardiff City FC as an Assistant Coach in June 2023, becoming a part of the managerial staff at the Club under Erol Bulut.

Karydas had previously worked with Bulut at Turkish club Gaziantep, where they served together between July 2021 and January 2023. With a coaching career spanning over 30 years, Nikolaos has worked at clubs across the world, in countries such as Greece, Russia, Ukraine, and Saudi Arabia. During his five-year spell with Greek giants Olympiacos between 2003-2008, the club won several national honours, including the Super League, Greek Cup and Greek Super Cup.
