APRIL BUSINESS LUNCH: MARK BRADLEY

Commercial

On April 12th 2013, Cardiff City Football Club will host Mark Bradley for a Business Club lunch.

Lasting from 12.00-2.00pm, the event will provide a telling insight into the 'customer experience' and discuss a number of issues that are at the heart of every business.

Mark is the founder of The Fan Experience Company, an organisation that supports growth by helping the sports industry develop a customer perspective and by promoting engagement with fans and other stakeholders.

A former lead assessor for the UK’s Unisys / Management Today Service Excellence Awards, The Fan Experience Company’s philosophy is based on the simple premise of seeing things through the customer’s eyes.  By using the real experiences of potential, existing and lapsed sports fans as a catalyst for change and improvement and then learning from the best practices of leading edge customer-focused businesses in other sectors, clubs, leagues and associations are able to achieve sustainable growth.

The Football League’s Family Excellence Awards, a fan experience improvement programme developed by the Fan Experience Company and aimed at helping clubs attract and retain more family groups, saw a 12% increase in attendances in its first three years of operation (c2 million people).

Mark’s customers include the RFL (Rugby League), the Football Association (the FA), the Scottish Premier League (SPL), the Football League and several different clubs, including Leeds Rhinos / Carnegie, Liverpool, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Doncaster Rovers, Crawley Town & Port Vale, while his non-sports customers include Cooperatives UK, the Charity Retail Association, Zero Waste Scotland, Hull University, Yorkshire Water and Dublin’s National Concert Hall.

Mark’s books Inconvenience Stores (2005), and Retails of the Unexpected (2008) expose the poverty of UK service through his own experiences. He writes for the Yorkshire Post and is a regular speaker on the UK business scene.
