A third national honour in six months for the Bluebirds...

In recognition of Club Goal of the Month's community reach, Cardiff City FC was named Community Football Club of the Year at the inaugural Social Media Awards.

The Bluebirds saw off a host of other Football League clubs to take the honour at a Gala Dinner in Manchester on Wednesday, 23rd November.

The awards panel also commended the Club for the proliferation of its social media numbers and expansion into Chinese social media.

The Social Media Awards are designed to celebrate the very best in social media communications, recognising those who are using online platforms to communicate in fresh and innovative ways via websites, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, apps and more.

The Awards are hosted by the publishers of many club focussed magazines - Club Mirror, Club Rugby, Sports Club Management, Clubhouse Europe and Sports4bars.com

Cardiff City Executive Director & CEO Ken Choo said of the honour: “We are delighted to receive this recognition – a second national award for the Club in as many weeks and third in just six months.

“We are extremely proud of the work that goes into the production and promotion of the Club Goal of the Month initiative, and indeed our work within the community in general.

“The Club Goal of the Month competition in particular is a hugely important part of our work, and symbolises the togetherness, unity and inclusion within this Club at every level.

“I want to thank all those who have contributed to our latest success and look forward to seeing further growth in the future.”
