FC Midtjylland are four-time Danish Superliga winners, with their most recent triumph coming during the 2023/24 campaign. They finished the most recent season as runners-up.
A shared connection between the two teams is striker Sory Kaba, who linked up with City on loan from Midtjylland during the second half of the 2022/23 season. Kaba would net eight times in 17 appearances for the Bluebirds.
