Born and raised in the Rhondda, Cian joined Cardiff City at the age of six and made his senior bow in April 2024.

The pacey forward signed a professional contract with the Club on his 17th birthday before putting pen-to-paper once again with the Club in January 2024.

Cian made his senior debut in a Sky Bet Championship match against Birmingham City, before marking his full debut with a stoppage-time winner against Southampton at Cardiff City Stadium a few days later.

A Wales U21 international, Ashford scored three goals and recorded three assists across 31 appearances in the 2024/25 season.
