Iain Darbyshire’s side will be looking to bounce back from a defeat to the Archers in last weekend’s Adran Trophy final.

In City’s previous meetings with Cardiff Met this season, the Bluebirds have recorded 3-1 and 5-0 victories, as well as a 2-0 win in the FAW Women’s Cup semi-final.

The Archers are third in the table, opening their Phase Two campaign with defeats to The New Saints and Swansea City Ladies.

Iain Darbyshire addresses his squad...

“We were obviously disappointed with last weekend’s result but it’s done now and all we can do is put it right this Sunday,” Iain began. “We’ve had a good, honest chat as a group and we’ll be ready for the game this weekend.

“I said on the weekend that the defeat is a wake-up call. As a group, we acknowledged that we weren’t good enough and there were things that we could have done a lot better, but let’s not lose sight of the fact that we went nearly a year unbeaten. We’re very proud of that and let’s go and try do it again.”

Zoe Atkins celebrates for the Bluebirds...

Attacker Zoe Atkins, who found the net in City’s last league game against The New Saints, added: “We’ve been really positive in training. We had analysis before training on Tuesday just to get our thoughts on the weekend out there, so smiles are back on our faces and we’ll be ready to go this weekend.

“We’ve shown a lot of resilience in previous games to come back and get a result. We’re a young squad, but with the experience that we have as well, we can pick up our heads for Sunday.”
