City head to TNS this weekend...

Adran Premier Preview | TNS vs. Cardiff City

Women
City Women travel to The New Saints’ Park Hall on Sunday afternoon (05/03), 2pm KO.

The Bluebirds head into the fixture on the back of netting a 97th minute equaliser in the South Wales derby against Swansea City last time out.

The point sees City remain unbeaten in the Adran Premier this season, leading at the top of the table by seven points, with five games left to play.

Opponents The New Saints made a winning start to Phase Two, claiming an impressive 2-0 victory over Cardiff Metropolitan University, with Helen Evans and Emily Ridge on the scoresheet.

“Going into this weekend, we’re under no illusions that it’s going to be a tough game,” assistant coach Scott Davies. “We know that going away to TNS is always a tricky game. They had a good result against Cardiff Met last week, so we’re expecting a battle.

“It’s a massive game. Every game for us now is a huge one, but like we’ve said all season, we’re just taking one game at a time. It’s going to be a tough test, but we’ve had a great season so far and we want to carry that on in the last five league games.”

Goalkeeper Ceryn Chamberlain, who made a crucial added-time save in the draw against Swansea City last week, added: “It was a huge game for us against Swansea last week. It ended in a draw, but I thought we did really well to get a point out of the game and keep the seven-point gap between us.

“TNS will want to prove a point that they belong in the top four. They’ve got nothing to lose and they’ll come at us, so we’ve just got to make sure that we keep playing how we have been all season.”
