Cardiff City FC Women Player of the Month | December 2022

Four City players have been nominated for Cardiff City Women’s December Player of the Month award, after producing fantastic performances.

So far this campaign, Phoebie Poole has won the award on two occasions, as well as midfielder Seren Watkins.

Ceryn Chamberlain

Goalkeeper Ceryn Chamberlain has been shortlisted after keeping two clean sheets in three fixtures, as well as making a crucial save in a 1-1 draw at the Swansea.com Stadium against Swansea City Ladies.

Siobhan Walsh

Captain Siobhan Walsh also played a huge part in City’s defensive record in December, which has been strong all campaign, as well as providing invaluable leadership.

Lily Billingham

At the other end of the pitch, Lily Billingham had a positive month, contributing a goal and two assists, finding the net in an impressive 6-0 victory over Abergavenny Women in the FAW Women’s Cup.

Megan Saunders

Finally, Megan Saunders popped up with some crucial moments in December, scoring and assisting in the win over Abergavenny, before netting a last-minute winner in a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Barry Town United.

Head coach Iain Darbyshire commented: “We had a very positive month in December and all four players deserve to be nominated. They’ve worked really hard, as have the whole squad and they’ve played their part in some really important results for us.”
