Going into Round One of the FAW Women’s Cup, the Bluebirds are on a four-game winning run, keeping four clean sheets and scoring 26 goals in the process.

Alana Murphy leads City’s scoring with nine goals, but she is closely followed by fellow forward Kate Jeremiah, who has seven.

Briton Ferry have lost all four of their matches this season to date: 7-0 to Cardiff Met at Cyncoed Campus and at Old Road, 1-0 against Llandudno, 3-1 to Cyncoed and 2-1 against Port Talbot Town.

With this, Cardiff City will be looking to extend their winning run to five and get their FAW Women’s Cup campaign off to a strong start.

Four months later, Kanisha-Mae Underdown scored two and Danielle Broadhurst fired home in the 3-1 victory at Cardiff International Sports Stadium.

Iain Darbyshire

“We’re excited and it’s another competition that we’re looking to go all the way in, so it’s a great chance for the team to get off to a strong start.

“It’ll be a tough game because Briton Ferry are a good side, but we’re more concerned about how we’re going to play and we’re hoping to dominate the ball and hopefully get the win.

“We’ve won four on the trot and we want to keep that going, but our next challenge is to beat Briton Ferry on the road.”

Sophie Norman

“I’m buzzing for the game, the girls are buzzing and the mood in the camp is amazing, so hopefully we can go out and make our four wins five.

“We want to win the FAW Women’s Cup, so we’re going to give our all to beat Briton Ferry and get off to a good start.

“I missed the girls while I was away with Wales U19, so it’s great to be back in the positive set-up.”
