Iain Darbyshire - Head Coach of Cardiff City FC Women...

cardiffcityfc.co.uk caught up with head coach Iain Darbyshire ahead of the match.

"Bridgwater will be a tough test," Iain began. "They play at a decent standard and have real quality in their squad. It'll be a good opportunity for us to see where we are in our development.

"We're happy with the way we've trained throughout pre-season. We're fit and raring to go.

"We'll have a bigger squad this evening. It'll be a chance to give a few of our U19 players a game but ultimately it is about balancing the minutes throughout the squad.

"We have things that we're looking to get out of the game and we want to put a good performance in. It's a confidence builder."

The Welsh top flight will commence once again in early September. Iain continued: "We've been back for just over a month now. It's only our second game back and we've got further exciting tests building up to the league campaign in early September.

"We've got some new players to blend in and that's what pre-season is all about."
