Cardiff City’s U18 team travel to face Bristol City U18 in the Professional Development League Saturday, February 1st – 11am kick-off.

Bristol City currently sit fourth in the Professional Development League Group South standings, with 31 points from their nine wins, four draws and five losses.

The Robins concluded the 2018/19 campaign in seventh of the Group South standings and had four more points than they presently have in 2019/20, despite having played ten more matches.

Moreover, Saturday’s visitors have scored 43 goals and conceded 32 in the Professional Development League so far this season.

In the Hot Seat

Bristol City’s Lead U18 Coach is former professional footballer Trevor Challis, who has spent over six years coaching through the age groups at the Robins. 

In his playing days, the 44-year-old competed for Queens Park Rangers, Bristol Rovers, Telford United, Shrewsbury Town, Weymouth and Eastleigh. Challis also represented England at U21, U18 and U16 level.

Last Time Out

The teams last met in November 2019 in the Professional Development League and the game ended in a 2-2 draw at Cardiff International Sports Stadium.

Cardiff City levelled twice, with Harry Pinchard equalising from Tommy Conway’s opener and Eli King cancelling out Max Williams’ goal late in the game.
